It’s interesting for me to watch how viewers find this blog via the search terms that they use at google, etc. Sometimes I will click on a link in my stat counter to see what is there. Words I wrote three, four, even eight years ago come flooding back. Some of them are in the [...]
Another campaign season, another year of waking up the day after election day and wondering what happened to summer.
I thought I was done with this. I remember writing as much earlier this year. I was good at saying NO to the requests. Then my resolve wavered and before I fully realized, I was down the [...]
Well. It’s been a while since my last update.
I offer a litany of excuses:
I worked a week at the BOE helping them do their Logic & Accuracy testing on the voting machines then promptly caught a terrible cold from Mr. Shameless.
I attended the Blue Jackets’ two home Stanley Cup playoff games [...]
Sunday morning I came down with a bad case of the stomach flu. Four days later, still gurgling and irritated by an unusually sharp sense of smell (bad thing right now), I am struggling to get my strength back. Hopefully my brain cells will follow.
Please accept my apologies for this pause in blogging.
Ipsissimus left a thought-provoking comment on my most recent post about re-entering Ohio’s political blogosphere. Here is my response, edited as I think about it more.

Thanks for drilling down to the core, Ips. Great discussion! Yes, my initial reaction to the bluntness was “ouch” but I need to remember it’s good to slap [...]
I spent the weekend trying to decide how to re-enter the Ohio political blogosphere. As I mentioned in my last post, while there is a lot of fodder in my county, there is also a fine line I do not want to cross, at least not right now.
When I write about friends [...]
Tim Russo, one of my favorite Ohio political bloggers, thinks that I should write more about the political scene in my county. I am flattered by his compliments and intrigued by his suggestion.
There is a lot of fodder here. My friend, a poli-sci whiz, explained to me in his post-election analysis [...]
Tim told me I need to start writing again, so I thought I’d include the update here to start the new year.
After some bad experiences as a volunteer for a couple of nonprofit organizations, I started writing in a journal. First it was once every couple of weeks with a group of women who became [...]
I’ve been trying to choose a new theme. I have several good ones. I just can’t decide which to use. The one you are looking at now is called “Coffee Desk.” The only drawback I can find is that the “Random selection of posts” at the bottom is not working.
Choice #2 [...]
I’m taking after MandoMama… the lyrics to All Apologies by Nirvana come to my mind this morning. I know I haven’t written anything of substance here in quite a while. It’s not that my mind hasn’t been full of thoughts, ideas and words. It has, in fact, been too full more [...]
Although my mind has been going a million miles an hour lately, the words haven’t been falling out onto my blog.
Part of the reason is because I removed the password protection so I feel the need to choose my words more carefully. I also don’t want to do or say anything that might [...]
Thank you everyone for your thoughts on the issue of password-protection. You all asked questions that help me.
Crystal D, I don’t know if the stalker is still trying to read. I don’t know, and more important, I realize I don’t care about her level of maturity. I would hope that [...]
Eleven days to election day. It’s been very busy, and next week starts with a bang on Monday.
I have a question to ask all of you.
Should I keep my blog password-protected?
I was worried about what to do about a problem. I know, I know. Posting to my blog is a public forum, and I couldn’t really expect a person who knew her prying eyes bothered me to have the discipline or courtesy to stay away. What is so bleeping interesting about my life [...]
Friends and longtime readers have said they are glad I am back to writing again. I guess you could say that I am glad too. This time feels different, though. I’ve been reading some heavy stuff lately and processing it all is taking longer than usual. Then to try and write [...]
Punctuated equilibrium: genetic change [which] occurs relatively rapidly on a geological timescale, and these shorter periods of evolution are sandwiched between longer periods of “stasis,” during which little or no net change occurs.
I’ve been blogging at shamelessagitator.com since October 2002. I first started this blog as a way to expand my writing practice. Most of [...]
